About The Lodge
Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge has a rich heritage of leaders over the past 65 years. We began as Hyas Chuck Kah Sun Klatawa, meaning “the great river to the west” in the fall of 1950 (Portland Area Council). In 1960 our Lodge name was changed to Skyloo, the “land of the mountain sun.” In 1994, following the merger of Columbia Pacific Council (Skyloo Lodge) and Cascade Area Council (Cole Snass Lamatai Lodge), originally chartered in 1945), we became Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge, the “great river that flows from the mountains.”
